Kevin Taheri is a successful entrepreneur who has created numerous companies and who has a proven track record in the nutritional supplement marketplace. For over 15 years Mr. Taheri’s vision has been to develop, manufacture and market innovative nutritionally-based products worldwide. As the first pillar in this vision, Mr. Taheri founded SMI Manufacturing for the express purpose of establishing a leadership position in the development and production of protein and nutraceutical products. Under his direction SMI has brought more than 20 new products to market and has instituted cutting-edge manufacturing techniques for cost effective small-batch as well as high volume production. This major investment in people and know-how has resulted in the creation of a state-of-the-art development and manufacturing facility that has been certified by the FDA and the European Union.

In 2002, as the second phase of his vision, Mr. Taheri led the acquisition of MD Labs by SMI and simultaneously launched a strategy to leverage the combined unique abilities to address the market needs of big box retailers such as Costco and Sam’s Club. In further pursuit of a competitive edge, Mr. Taheri and his team created Big Box Logistics LLC, a full service, international transportation provider.

More recently, Mr. Taheri has led the SMI team in a new direction to address critical unmet needs in chronic conditions such as Diabetes and Joint Pain. This concept led to the creation of Phoenix Food Industries, which has to date focused on the direct-to-consumer sales and marketing channels, as well as the creation of unique formulations based on reproducible science. With the creation of Tribez, Mr. Taheri’s complete vision of a fully integrated group of entities that has world-class expertise from product development to manufacturing to marketing to shipping has finally been realized.
